Knee Woes
My PA and I looked at my knee X-rays today. The machine that took this series of X-rays was phenomenal. And the digital clarity is astonishing. They took three views, and my PA was cringing and saying, “Ouch” at every angle. “This is disintegrating really bad” was one nearly direct quote. “Oh, and look at that!” was heard multiple times.
He decided he didn’t need to do the hands-on exam. Of course, he can’t diagnose, but we all know it’s an advancing case of osteo-arthritis, and we’re trying a combination of a variant of Aleve and Extra-Strength Tylenol. The radiologist hasn’t read them yet, but the layman in me can see a whole lot, and my very experienced physician’s assistant saw way more in there than I did.
I’ve asked for a similar film on my other knee — just to verify it’s state of degeneration.
Ouch, I’m sorry.
You sound just like my doctor. 😉
🙁
Ouchie.
Didn’t you have a knee replaced last year?
Bummer. My friend Kyra just had her left knee replaced. Not fun, but we’re hopeful that she will regain movement without pain.
No, EJ, I had arthroscopic surgery to trim a meniscus tear. 2006’s surgery was on my right knee. 2005’s was for my left. It decided it needed some attention, I guess. It’s slightly better today.
So glad to have both of them replaced. One in 2015 and the other in 2016.
