It's Good to Be the Rat
Yes, I was watching a TNT announcer interview Yao Ming last night, and he wished Yao Happy New Year — The Year of the Rat. Yup. I’m a Rat, and it’s my year.
There’s a lot of good to read about Rats. Wikipedia has an interesting entry as well. I love the Chinese Zodiac, but the idea that everyone born in a given year would be so similar stretches my willingness to suspend disbelief. I have the same trouble stretching to a one month window for the Sun Signs Zodiac. I happen to be a Leo. I happen to like the Rat – Leo combination. I also realize the casual observer gets an overly simplified version. The skilled follower understands and knows how to “read” the subtleties that goes well beyond the one or two sentences which comprise the Daily Horoscope you find in your newspapers comic section.
How about you? What are your signs? Do you follow closely, for entertainment, or shun all references as either irrelevant or blasphemy?
I am Monkey – Sagittarius. I find the general descriptions of people born Sagittarius to be pretty accurate as far as I’m concerned. I have never found a daily or monthly horoscope that was anything more than vague generatlities and useless.
I’m a Wood Dragon – Cancer. Essentially, it makes me a creative home body. lol
I’m Ox-Leo. Both my husband and son are Horses, Cancer and Aquarius respectively. This explains a lot! LOL
I don’t follow it all closely, but I have to admit that some of the characteristics seem to be right on.
