Twilight Update
Thanks to TECH‘s insightful critique, you’ll be spared from experiencing my wimpy ending in Twilight. He took one for the team and highlighted many, if not all, of the places where Twilight leaves a reader wanting, and there are many. He did exactly what I hoped he’d do, and he went above and beyond by reading other books in the genre and comparing them so he could tell me where he thought I was on the money as well as where I was missing the boat.
I’m not sure how I’ll fix these things yet, but thanks to TECH, I have clues about where to start. He even suggested I could (gasp!) kill a character or two. I’m not sure why the author of Murder by Dewey Decimal suggesting this should surprise me, though. Despite the many problems he highlighted in the story, he did mention several things he liked about the characters, so there is some hope. In fact, I think I can find Hilda’s phone number around here somewhere.
It’s the least I can do for all the work TECH did on the critique.
Hilda’s phone number? YEAH, BABY!
Ahem. Let’s not leave your readers with the wrong impression. There are many, many, many good things about Twilight. I hope you start to work on it soon — now would be good — and rewrite it so that I can enjoy it again. You handle technical language superbly, and the characters are way beyond the cardboard people common to techno-thrillers. Twilight truly is a diamond in the rough, and I hope you cut and polish until it gleams.
Good job, Tech. Glad you took one for the team. 🙂
You’ll find your path through, Jean, I have faith.
