Carpal Tunnel Beginnings
I’ve been waking up in the morning (and sometimes during the night) with numb and tingling hands and fingers. According to my mom (who recently had surgery in both hands to correct this) and what I’ve been reading, this is a symptom of carpal tunnel syndrome.
As much as I use computers, I’m not surprised to learn this. I have, however, found temporary relief. I have two wrist braces — one for each wrist. I wear them to bed at night, and no tingling in the morning. Presumably, in addition to hours upon hours of computer use, the way I bend my wrists while I sleep puts pressure on that nerve that comes down the wrist and up the center of the palm of my hands. With the braces on, I can’t bend my wrists wrong while trying to sleep.
I think I’m going to try to find a body brace to handle the remaining quirks that seem to develop while I attempt to sleep at night.
I think you’ll have to invent the body brace yourself, so let me know when you need testers for your body brace. 🙂

It is carpal tunnel,. I was diagnosed this year with the same thing. There are some nice braces that keep the hand stiff at night. I got 2 from my doctor.
Ask you doctor about them.
