Artisteer Trial
I learned about Artisteer a couple of days ago. It was advertised as WordPress theme design software. So far, I’ve found free themes and modified them to meet my expectations. I’ve done reasonably well with that approach, but I found it limiting. So, when firegold21 twitted about it, I decided to check out the program.
It’s a free trial, and you can try both the Standard version and the Home and Academic version in the same package. Until you purchase the program and enter the registration code, all your templates and themes will display with a “trial” watermark. If you want to see what that looks like (complete with trial watermark), check out my polarbear60.org site. That’s the first attempt (and I misspelled the program name in my post — I’ll get that corrected soon).
I’ve played with a couple more trials and am getting more comfortable with the software. If you need to export to Joomla, Drupal, asp.net, or CodeCharge Studio, the Standard Edition will work help you. They have also recently added a corporate website template designer. I played with that this morning. I desperately need to update my main website (which has been neglected for about six years). I’m very pleased with the header image I was able to create, but I’m still fine tuning the rest of the design.
I think I’m going to buy this program. I have to decide which version will meet my limited needs (WordPress and website) best.
The one drawback for me, but they say they plan to address it — no Mac version. For now, Artisteer is PC-only.
