iPad Envy
I know I said I was going to wait for the second generation (at least) iPad to be released. There are too many things I want in the device that aren’t available in the initial release model that just might show up in a later model.
But…
I read the reviews. I look at the Apps. Things. Things has been ported to the iPad. I love Things. Plus, I could take it with me when I’m not locked down to my Mac Mini in Central Texas. And, really, what good is an awesome life management software if you can’t have with you when you’re managing your life?
I found myself at the Apple site today looking at the iPad images and whining like a hungry, lonely puppy. Hubby was only mildly amused.
Maybe I could just get the 32G model, then, when a later generation is released that has everything I want, I can get the top memory amount being offered. I’m sure SOMEBODY would be interested in accepting my first generation model as a gift…
The next step, as you can probably guess, is to head on over to the Apple Store and drool on them. Play with the demo model. See if it’s all it’s cracked up to be. Yeah. Maybe actually laying hands upon one will be a disappointment. I’m sure I’ll still be satisfied with my Palm TX5 after I do that.
What do you think?
At least they’re not porting Scrivener to it. That would probably put me over the edge…
I’m holding out until they have USB ports because I NEED it to be able to access a keyboard, printer, and flash drive. Otherwise, it seems pretty cool!
I think if I spring for it, I’ve talked myself into getting only the 16G model. I was “this” close to getting an iPod Touch in December, so I’ll look at this along those lines. Then, I’ll be able to hold old until the 3rd generation, maybe.
My BlueTooth keyboard is supposed to work with it, but I still want the USB port for the flash drives. Printer? I hope to be able to do that wirelessly (Assuming it can do that — there must be an app for that!).
