It’s Wednesday
I’ll bet you knew that. I tend to forget. I was talking to my neighbor a couple of weeks ago, and I genuinely forgot what day of the week it was. I guessed it was Monday. I was wrong. It was Friday. That’s a little embarrassing. But only because I feel mildly guilty that I’m able to be retired and not have to worry about those details while he still has to remember those things because he works and has kids in school — elementary school. So, the day of the week will matter to him for a long time yet.
What’s happening on this fine Wednesday? Plans are to help hubby with the routing work on the house boards. When your house is 110 years old and needs replacement boards, they don’t make them the same way anymore, so new boards have to be manufactured to spec. Initially, we thought we’d have to cut down 2X8s, then we discovered deck boards. Nearly perfect. We planed them for thickness and took a circular saw to the edge to get them to proper width. Now the router will cut the laps for the edges. With some minor finishing after that, they should be ready to go.
My lawn tractor is acting up. I suspect it has a clogged fuel filter. It’s supposed to be changed out every season and, um, this tractor is finishing it’s third season. Ahem. I’ll be picking up some tuneup parts to remedy that neglect.
I need a refill on Revolution for the cats, and there was a billing error with the cat’s boarding, so I’ll stop at the vet’s on the way to Rockdale to correct that (they didn’t charge us enough, but they still gave us a good break on the three cats). Of course, while we’re in Rockdale running errands, we have to eat lunch at The Ranch.
Then, tonight, we’ll head over to bingo at the VFW. That’s fun once in awhile.
I have that problem now. Apparently I used going to work to differentiate the days. Now, I have to check a calendar sometimes!
Kind of strange, isn’t it?
