Roxy’s kittens are 26 days old today. On Monday, they’ll be four weeks. Here’s what they look like now:

I caught them in what will be an increasingly rare pose — asleep — this afternoon. Order from left to right: Number Four, Number One, Number Three, and Number Two.

Number Two Cat is the only one that worries me a little, but from what I can tell, his litter mates are maturing quickly, and he’s pretty much on target. Number Two, however, was the first to go, ahem, #2. I believe I watched Number Four climb into the crate, make a beeline for the litter box, climb inside, and squat tonight. Then he ate litter. Sigh. Number Two was also gnawing on litter earlier today. I swear. They’re like the kid that ate paste in elementary school.

Numbers Three, Four, and One (in that order) are walking and running. All four are able to get into and out of the crate. The first time they actually climbed out of the crate, they used Roxy as a ramp. Climbing into the crate has been easier for them than climbing out.

When I snapped this shot, they were next to one another.  By the time the camera saved it, they’d darted apart. I vacuumed the crate this morning, and they were mostly oblivious to it. Number Four, however, watched it closely and backed away from the hose as it approached him.

Number Three follows me around. I staged this shot of her checking out the keyboard. Usually, I wouldn’t let her do this.

Notice she’s nailed the “Enter” key on the first try.

But all this play wears a kitten out.

As I was uploading this photo, I felt something warm trickling down my cleavage. You parents know what I’m talking about. Yup. Her bladder works. Heading upstairs to shower and change before bed.
