NaNo Day 3: 9701
There we have it. 9,701 words. That means only 40,299 words to go.
To stay on track for the Backwards NaNo, my daily count finally drops below 3000 words for the day tomorrow to 2986.
In non-NaNo news, we did work at the ranch today. I continue to be amazed that, in spite of the drought, the hayfield is so green. In contrast, you can see our neighbor’s field on the right.I’m absolutely certain the neighbors who are maintaining the field (not the same ones who own the field on the right) and harvesting the hay do not irrigate. We’ve had 0.01″ of a rain in the last month. Granted, it looks a little thin in places, but it still manages to look remarkably lush, considering the circumstances.
Wow, you go! Great work!
No irrigation? I hardly ever saw anything that green when we lived there, but we were further west and south.
Well, we don’t do anything for that field. The people who lease it from us for the hay have done a tremendous job getting the weeds out, improving the quality of the hay, and generally managing the field. I’m in awe at their success.
