NaNo Day 9: 23505
Posting late, because my site host had an unexpected outage last night, knocking all my sites off line. They’re back this morning, so here we are.
I made it to a cumulative total of 23,505 words last night. My goal (to be on time for Backward NaNo) was 25,889. I’m pretty sure I can make that today. So far, I’ve been trying to stay one day behind for Backward NaNo (I’m very comfortably ahead for regular NaNo). If I were completely on track for this plan, I’d make it to 28,187 words today. That means I’d need to write 4,682 words. That is doable, but I’m in San Antonio with hubby this week working on some things with the house, seeing some friends, meeting some other obligations, and that does slow down the words — almost like it did when I was working outside the home. Just like “sugar is sugar” (I don’t completely believe that), “work is work” (yes, it’s work, but it’s different).
While we’re here in San Antonio, any cats that want to get to spend time in the back yard. Everyone except Tarzan has eagerly participated in the opportunity. Natasha and Ajax have both long enjoyed time in the back yard. They explore, nibble on grass, and just relax. Lady embraces the back yard. She explores every facet of it and generally is a joy to watch as she interacts with the environment. Tarzan? His preference is to sit in the garden window and watch. Hubby will carry him out to the back yard, and his first preference is to run to the back door, paw open the screen door, and try to get inside the house. We should have reversed their names, I think.
