Black and Decker Mower Recall Update
I am delighted to report my recalled mower is back home. That’s not quite accurate. I have a mower. I do not have the 2005 model CMM1000 mower I sent in for the recall work. I have a 2011 model CMM1200 mower as a replacement — WITH a functional charging unit. Hubby says the mower was filthy coming out of the box, so it’s a used mower (but I’m not concerned about that). I did, however, get the same box I sent them back. Grin.
The CMM1200 is the model that replaced my mower in the Black and Decker lineup of electric cordless mowers. Some of you may recall I purchased replacement batteries for my CMM1000 last summer, but I had not installed them in the mower yet. Those batteries are the correct batteries for this new mower, so I’m very happy about that, too.
I am VERY pleased with my entire Black and Decker experience. Both times I called the Black and Decker customer service line, I talked to a person who sounded like a native English (US, even) speaker. In fact, I talked to Audrey both times. She was knowledgeable, personable, and extremely helpful.
I put the old mower on the UPS truck right before I left for Wisconsin, and the replacement mower arrived at the house the day before I returned — a two week turn around in a very satisfactory way.
I have a newer model Black and Decker cordless electric mower that I use at the store building, and I love it, but I use this older model here at the house to mow areas too large to just use the weedeater on and too cramped or small for the riding mower.
Yay!!!
Welcome home, btw. 😉
