Cats: Weekly Status
I don’t have much to add. The kittens successfully transitioned to San Antonio and back this week. Rossie went into hiding for a couple of days, but by the time it was time to come back to Central Texas, she had been out and about for a day and a half. Capturing her for bringing her back was uneventful — she was camped out in her carrier, and I just slipped Floyd in with her and closed the door. This is why I like the carrier to be a “safe” place for kitty to take refuge. Every hiding place she found, I’d poke in at her to see how she was doing. I can see her through the sides of the carrier, so I don’t bother her when she’s in there. Maybe she’s figuring that out?
Floyd. If he were a little boy, he’d be dashing about the house with his baseball glove on, throwing the ball to himself and catching it.
Mr. L has decided it’s his job to make Ruby a lap cat. She’s not fighting him too hard on this idea. Delta is already pretty laid back.
Poor Ajax had his usual upset tummy going both ways, but on the way back up to Central Texas I at least remembered to limit his food the night before, so he had less to vomit. Yes, we sometimes make decisions on whether we’re traveling or not to limit Ajax’s time in the vehicle. It’s one reason I stay up in Central Texas while Mr. L might be down in San Antonio working. Sometimes, I need to make this trip, and this was one of those times. I’ll need to go back in April as well, so I’ll need to plan a long enough trip to justify making Ajax miserable.
Tarzan does not like going into the carrier. He becomes very vocal in stating his displeasure at the idea. Fortunately, he doesn’t fight me too hard.
Natasha is a great traveler. She’s not thrilled to be doing it, but she’s a good traveling kitty.
Lady will be making a visit back to Dr. Val this week. She has an injury or a skin problem above her left eye and on her ear. Dr. Val didn’t think it was a problem last time we were in, but it’s getting worse, so it’s time to get a second look.
