  1. Sorry, can’t help. But I wish I had a good recipe too. I try throw stuff together sometimes to make mac and cheese, but it never turns out quite right. I’ve never gone looking for recipes on pintrest, but that’s a good idea.

  2. I love mac & cheese, too. I use my grandmother’s stovetop mac & cheese recipe (two pots—one for sauce, the other for pasta). It’s the only thing I can make with some semblance of success. It can take a while to make, and requires constant stirring, but it’s delicious.

Here’s the sauce recipe, if you care to try it:

In a medium saucepan, melt two tbls of butter on low heat.
—Add tbls flour and stir together.
—Add 1 cup (and a tad) of milk and stir until smooth.
—Add pepper and salt to taste (I never add salt)
—Bring mixture to a boil (don’t turn up the heat too much. It takes a while to get there) and boil for 1 to 2 minutes
—Add cheese (I usually buy a “brick” of extra sharp cheddar and slice it into squares) a little at a time, stirring constantly until melted
    —Pour over hot unbuttered pasta
    —Enjoy!

  3. Have you tried Alton Brown’s stove top mac and cheese? He uses evaporated milk instead of regular milk. In the episode he goes into science-y detail…but it’s my favorite no fail recipie for my fav comfort food.
