The A-Z Challenge Aftermath
I thoroughly enjoyed the A-Z Blogging Challenge last month. Despite that, I have to give serious consideration to whether I will play along with these things in the future. I think it took time and effort away from other things I would have been better served doing.
See, part of the A-Z Challenge (if I were playing faithfully) would have been visiting other people’s blogs. There are over 2000 participants in the challenge. Many of them are wonderful bloggers who I would enjoy reading and learning about. Alas, I didn’t have time to do my posts let alone try to visit even a subset of participants. I did visit many of the people who took the time to visit and comment here. I deeply appreciate those who made the time to visit as well as making the time to post a thoughtful comment. Thank you.
I will confess, I didn’t begin this challenge with any intention of doing a lot of visiting, nor was I particularly concerned about increasing my readership. If I did and do, I’m not opposed to that; however, I have a small readership here, and I’ve reconciled myself to that and decided some time ago that the blogs are active as long as they serve some purpose for me. If other people find value and enjoyment, I’m thrilled.
I spend way too much time sitting in front of a computer, and far too much of that time is not productive. Mr. L hasn’t been complaining lately, but he doesn’t need to. I’ve been complaining to myself, and that’s more than enough. I plan to retain my previous blogging schedule, so nothing is changing there, but I need to be more productive with my time. Spring is here, and summer will effectively be here in the next week or two (we are in Central Texas, after all, and this lovely weather is not going to last). That means I have a plethora of yard work to do, and I’m behind from what I planned to do over the winter. That’s the outside work. I have an equal amount of inside work to do as well. So enough of these games. Back to work.
Congrats on finishing the A-Z challenge. I enjoyed the variety in your posts. I think it is cool that you are helping the feral cats in your neighborhood. I trapped and helped one and it was a big process.
I never heard of a DVORAK keyboard or no-knead garlic-cheese flatbread. The keyboard I won’t try, but the bread is on my list!
