Cats: Rossie Isolation Update
Mr. L and I tried an experiment last week. He had to stay in San Antonio several days longer than I did. I had a dental appointment in Central TX on Monday and he had a doctor appointment in San Antonio on Thursday, so we agreed he would keep Rossie and Ajax in San Antonio with him to see if he could continue working with Rossie’s socialization there. The San Antonio house is much smaller, and it holds far fewer hiding places for a kitty intent on staying out of the spotlight.
She gets far more attention down there, because we can find her, drag her out, and pet her. Also, like the other cats, she does enjoy the garden window. On Tuesday or Wednesday evening, she was playing a little with some of the toys and with Ajax. By the last two days he was down there, Rossie was getting on the bed with him at night and asking, no demanding, to be petted. This was a huge step forward for her. We don’t anticipate it will repeat itself regularly here in the “big house” in Central Texas. At least, not yet. This puts her at about the place the other kittens were at four or five months ago.
