Property Update: July
We’re having an unbelievably slow year for property progress this year. Here’s what can be attributed to the last month for the various properties:
- Central Texas House: Yard work with a very little decluttering. Mr. L assembled his jig for making rosettes, and began making them. He has nine blanks, if I understood him correctly. Rosettes are the square blocks of wood with decorative designs cut into them that go at the top corner of window frames in an old Victorian house. Ours are a relatively simple concentric circle design, and a few need to be replaced, so he’s working on that project.
- The Shop: A little work on the light covers and some straightening.
- The Store: Mowed the critical areas
- The Ranch: The new east boundary fence should be either nearly completed or in progress. The new owners for the property to the east of us are going to run cattle, and unlike the previous owners, they want their cattle to stay home, so they are replacing the fence. Much appreciated.
- The San Antonio House: Mr. L bought boards last month, and he has plans to remove the single entry garage door (he’s never used it; it’s in a bad place), and now he has the materials to do so. He also intends to finish boxing the eaves around the garage, which will make painting and maintaining that area easier. Most of the labor for those tasks should be completed in the next couple of weeks and should (we hope) appear in next month’s update.
