Cats: Teeth Cleanings
Ajax and Natasha start off the year with they annual well kitty visit to Dr. Val for exams and vaccinations. I was concerned about Natasha losing fur, but the real area of concern is teeth for both of them. They both lost a little weight this year, and we speculate it’s because it hurts to eat. Natasha gets a quarter baby aspirin twice a day for two days, and they both have antibiotics to take for seven days. Then, at the end of the month, they go in for teeth cleanings.
Daphne will be six months old at the end of the month, and you know what that means. Yup. She has her appointment to be spayed the same day as Natasha gets her teeth cleaned.
Lady, Tarzan, and Floyd are up next month for their well kitty visit and vaccinations.
After that, we’re looking at Sneaky in May for her annual visit. Sneaky should be much easier this time around than last year. We’ve built a lot more trust, and she’s much more comfortable with handling. Of course, we’ll be dealing with a strange environment, so we’ll see how it goes.
Rossie, Delta, and Ruby got their shots a couple of months ago and were all very healthy.
The gray tabby is still hanging around. He comes to eat, but I don’t see much else of him. I’m monitoring what’s going on with him. If he’s still hanging around here in a couple of months, I’ll probably try to trap him and get him neutered, tested for feline leukemia, give him his vaccinations, then release him again to see what happens. He’s pretty jumpy still, but has excellent guest kitty manners outside. (He’s polite to Sneaky — as he should be, since he’s asking her to share her food with him.)
