Cats: Kitty Update
Here’s the state of the kitties:
Natasha: Doing well. Appreciating warm places more. Kept all her teeth during her dental cleaning last week.
Ajax: Had his dental cleaning yesterday and also kept all his teeth. With his weight loss and sky high blood glucose reading, we had concerns about possible diabetes. Thankfully, after his procedure, when he was relaxed, they checked blood levels again, and he was normal. Whew. Hopefully, with teeth that don’t hurt as much, he’ll gain some weight back, but we’ll be watching for symptoms of diabetes just in case.
Lady: She was a grouch and quite surly to the vet staff and Dr. Val today. This is unusual. We still haven’t found a cause for her apparent discomfort as well as her aggressiveness. Dr. Val is researching a few things, but her first choice right now, assuming it’s safe for cats and has shown any sign of working in cats, is a fibromylalgia medication. We’ll know more next week.
Tarzan: He’s a very healthy kitty.
Pretty Boy Floyd, Delta, and Ruby: All doing well.
Rossie: She’s out and about more upstairs during the day.
Sneaky: She’s been inside for the last couple nights and days waiting for it to warm up outside. Beginning tomorrow morning, temperatures are supposed to go back t well above freezing, and she’s looking forward to being back outside where she’s more comfortable. Not that she minds ear rubs, but this indoor life is unsettling to her.
Orange Creamsicle, Fluffy Gray, and Solid Black(it’s a new one): They usually make an appearance in the colder weather, but I haven’t seen either at the feeder this week. Somebody has eaten some of the food not being eaten by Sneaky with her in the house, but I’m not sure who.
