Cats: Back in Central TX
The cats are back in Central Texas (we came with them — we don’t let them drive). Lady did well for a week outside the cage in San Antonio, then there were a couple of incidents. Not major, but they came in the late evening. For now, she’s back in the cage. Mr. L wasn’t sure who was involved in the incident. We’ll try having her out again on Sunday with supervision. In an experiment, I put their carriers side by side in the back of the truck on the way up from San Antonio, and everyone was quiet. I took the towel from Rossie’s carrier and put it in Lady’s cage. We’ll keep working on this.
Everyone else has been doing well.
Sneaky was out on her afternoon rounds when we got back this afternoon, but after the heat of the day, she was on the side porch. We went out to talk to her, and she spent some time with us. Then she began her inspection of vehicles and the trailer. Everything had a new scent, of course.
I looked out the upstairs window and saw the orange creamsicle cat lounging on the front yard by the steps. He seems to be spending more time here. I’m probably going to have to trap him and get him checked out and if generally healthy, get him shots and neutered. He’s been here long enough. I’m not sure when or if I’ll follow through on that.
In a side note, I refilled the bird feeder during my quick trip up here last week, and, of course, it was empty today. I refilled, and the birds have been thrilled.
