March Property Update
Has it been a month already? Why, yes, it has! And what a month it was. Weather is still on a roller coaster of ups and downs, and they have been doozies! We’ve ranged between single digits and 80 degrees over the last month. On a single day, we ranged thirty degrees in an hour. Here’s what we got done this month:
The San Antonio House: Two china berry trees felled, cut up, and out for pick up by our remarkable Alamo Heights sanitation department.
The Ranch: Nothing at the ranch this month.
The Store: I got started on mowing at the store. We purchased a flex pipe for doing the water line repair, but we have to determine what connectors we want to use to make the connection. And I hope nothing has crawled into the line, because when we get around to hooking water pressure up, it will block the line, and that will really make a mess, won’t it?
The Shop: Mr. L installed new lighting over the tool cage. He needed to do that before putting the top back on.
The Central Texas House: I mowed and did a little light trimming.
We investigated a broken water pipe that froze during the last freeze while we were in San Antonio. We cut the lines to the back bathroom (that is only roughed in) and installed shut-off valves, which will make it easier to re-hook the lines up when we replace the broken pipes in the wall. We detest PVC pipe. Additionally, Mr. L installed a trap door over the crawl space opening in the ceiling of the back porch closet, which should help keep that porch roof space better insulated in the future.
We put scaffolding up at the front living room outer wall. Time to do light sanding and add the final coat of paint as well as strip the window sill, primer, and paint it.
