April Property Update
April has brought mildly better weather, and with that, Mr. L and I have been busy. Here’s what we’ve been working on:
The San Antonio House: We haven’t been there to do anything.
The Ranch: Mr. L and I took a ride out to the ranch to survey conditions. While he was taking a walkabout, I trimmed small branches off trees that fell and need to be removed.
The hayfield is looking good (taken from outside the front gate):
The Store: Mr. L sorted through some things over there, but nothing this month. I need to get over to mow.
The Shop: The shop has benefited the most from our efforts this month. We had a yard sale the first weekend of the month, and a lot of things we’ve been wanting to be gone found new homes. Not nearly enough, but it’s a start. We made two trips to the dump for the City-Wide Clean Up (one day per year, the city does not charge to utilize this service). A significant portion of the absolute, no doubt about it, junk furniture we haven’t been able to dispose of yet is gone, mostly dressers. The last two years, we focused on mattresses for the cleanup day. This year, it’s unsalvageable furniture. The staging area for the first load is depicted below:
That pile is the dressers that were downstairs in the space depicted below. But wait! There’s more–mostly upstairs. Those went on the second load. This space looks a lot better, but you can see it’s not finished yet:
The Central Texas House: I got the lawn mowed. Mr. L got the next coat of color on the front wall.
wow, lots of work. Congrats on getting so much done.
