Happy Mother's Day
A special Happy Mother’s Day to my mom, Nancy. Mother to six, grandmother to eight, great grandmother to four. She’s a mainstay of our family who, in conjunction with my dad, held us all together through our formative years, guiding four children to adulthood and seeing them become responsible citizens. They took on the responsibility of raising one grandchild as well.
We were brought up in the church, and I’ve always appreciated that (I know it wasn’t obvious at the time, Mom and Dad). My religious upbringing has given me a solid foundation upon which to build my adult life.
I’m more fortunate than many of my friends — Mom is still with us. While she has significant health issues, she’s not letting any of them slow her down, and I admire her perseverance.
Happy Mother’s Day, Mom. Thank you for all you’ve done for me through the years and your continued love and prayers.
What a lovely tribute.
As someone who is just getting to know Jean, let me add my thanks–Nancy, your careful parenting has added to the good in the world. Your daughter, and I figure your other children as well, does you proud. :)TX
