MGR Tour: Mid-Year Check-in
Howdy, Merry Go Round Tour visitors! Back in January, I posted some goals, and this month, we’re checking up on how I’m doing in meeting those goals. A little mid-year update, if you will.
Here are the goals I posted in January:
- Finish revision of Polar Bear on the Loose, and, thus, the “How To Revise Your Novel” course I started, ummmm, several years ago.
- Write 26 short stories or character sketches for the Blogging A-Z Challenge in April.
- Publish the RandR Fiction Club newsletter bi-monthly.
- Plan my next novel to revise.
- Polish five of the best stories from the A-Z Challenge and publish them as an anthology.
Here’s where I stand on each one:
- I am on Lesson 19 in the “How To Revise Your Novel” course and the Polar Bear on the Loose revision. I finally finished Lesson 17 and worked quickly through Lesson 18, really liking what I found. These last three lessons are polishing, and I hope to make good progress through them. I’m optimistic this goal is on track.
- I successfully completed the April blogging challenge. Maybe I should begin planning for next year?
- The RandR Fiction Club newsletter is on target. Next issue ships on September 2.
- I have not begun to plan the next novel to revise. I have begun the “How To Write A Series Expansion” course, and I’m using that course to develop and write a Kitty City series.
- I have not picked five stories for an A-Z Blogging Challenge anthology yet, which means I have not published one either.
Not bad for a mid-year gut check. I see I have some goals I’ve drifted from, but I have time to work on them.
You can do it. Just stay as persistent as you set out to be.
Way to go, Jean. I’m doing the HTWAS expansion, too. Good luck with it.
