Cats: Dog Days
The indoor cats are lazing around, enjoying summer indoors. Sneaky is all over the yard, following us at a distance, keeping an eye on things. The cat I’ve been calling Big Gray is a silver tabby (I did not know that was a designation). I’ve been looking for a better name for him, and Mr. L suggested Walter. Oddly, Walter seems to fit, and it feels more right than Lancelot of some of the other things I’ve heard or thought about. My only reservation about the name is my grandfather’s name was Walter, and I don’t want anyone to feel I’m being disrespectful to grandpa. We’ll see.
I cleaned the outside programmable food tower, installed fresh batteries (after a year and a half the old batteries were still going strong, surprisingly), and programmed to feed twice per day. I also cleaned the outside water tower and filled it with fresh water.
Lady is sitting in the parlor window, and she’s having a between window spat with Walter (Big Gray). Interesting. The greatest progress with Lady has been her aggressiveness has been displayed under appropriate conditions for the last several months. The rest of the time, she’s pretty mellow and minds her own business.
Mr. L feels as if Rossie is making more of an effort to be with him over the recent weeks. I applaud this development. Of course, everything with Rossie is half a step forward and two steps back.
All is well for the moment in the cat community.
