August Property Update
It’s been a busy month for us here at Mercury Ranch. But just to make sure you have a solid perspective on things, please go read this post about putting on your perspectacles. (Don’t worry, it will open in a new window or tab, so you can easily come back here to finish. I’ll wait.)
Did that help whatever ails you? I hope so. Now. Here’s what’s been happening around here:
San Antonio House:
- Yard is holding it’s own. For now.
- Got trimming and edging done.
- Got new neighbors.
- We had a bountiful fig harvest, and the second crop isn’t ripe yet, so we’re likely to get more (assuming they ripen while I’m in town).
The Ranch: I got the deer feeder and game camera installed. I’m going to go check on it next Monday. I hope the camera chip is filled with interesting things.
The Store: It’s been so dry, I haven’t wanted to stress the grass any more than necessary, so I haven’t mowed.
The Shop:
- Mr. L has installed more lighting. He’s about two-thirds done with the shop area.
- Mr. L has moved my Jeep onto the lift in preparation for installing the rebuilt transfer case. He has just the power take-off unit to go, and the driveline will be completely rebuilt.
- Mr. L moved the woodie body to where the Jeep used to be.
- We moved the woodie wood kit to the shop and have it in a dry place lifted off the floor (just in case)
- We’re preparing to haul automotive items to a swap meet at the end of the month, so that stuff is pulled out and preparing for pricing and loading onto two trailers.
Central Texas House:
- While I was in San Antonio, Mr. L rearranged the blue room and moved a lot of stuff out of it to other parts unknown — presumably where the stuff needed to be
- It’s been dry, so the yard didn’t grow much, but I still leveled it with the mower deck at the highest setting and generated three bags of clippings.
- I picked pears from our pear tree. Tasty. I estimate about one-third of a bushel of pears. I wasn’t able to reach all of them, but the birds will enjoy them.
