Cats: Mostly Business as Usual
Not much news for the cats this week. We’ve started weaning Lady from the Reconcile. That will take about six weeks. We keep the curtain on the side porch door open during the day so Walter can see in when he comes up to the feeder to each. When we see him, we wave and call, “Hi, Walter.” The first few times we did this, he ran. Now he watches us and returns to eating. I’ve also decided that when I call for Sneaky under the house, I’m also going to call for Walter. He’s usually under there, so I’m hoping he’ll see what Sneaky does when we call for her and learn to do the same.
Sneaky has been more willing to let us pet her and pick her up at various places on the property lately. She’s been sleeping on the back porch. I carried her inside the back door earlier this week, and she wasn’t comfortable with that. We stood inside the door for about a minute, then I took her back outside and set her down.
Everyone else in the clan has had a normal week. Rossie has been out about more than usual upstairs, and that’s always good to see.
