Active Readers Wanted
You’re a reader. If you’re not, you wouldn’t be wandering the blogosphere. But are you the kind of reader who wishes you’d had an opportunity to help your favorite authors “get it right.” You know that one detail that just isn’t realistic based upon your expertise in an area? Maybe you’ve rolled a car or two and know you just don’t “get out of the car” when it’s sitting on it’s roof. Maybe you know people in the Air Force are called airmen and not soldiers. Maybe you know polar bears aren’t great candidates to live among humans and you can tell an author how to make his or her tale more believable. Before publication.
How would you do this? Where would you even start? You have some opportunities on GoodReads and a few other sites to interact with authors, usually after publication. Have you ever wanted to interact with working authors in a way where you might be able to help them improve their work? Or maybe you’d be able to interact in other ways? We don’t really know yet, because the site that could allow you to do that is under construction right now, and we’re looking for active readers. Now is a great time to participate, because we’re discussing how the site will be built to benefit both readers and writers. Want to check it out?
Go here to the ReadersMeetWriters Hub. Yes, that’s an affiliate link. I have no idea what I’ll get if you use it — we haven’t decided yet. But we need more readers participating in the site, and I’m certain I have some active readers here, so I wanted to share the opportunity with you. If the site looks like something you’d like to be involved with, please sign up and add your suggestions to the discussion. One of the plans is to have a matching system to try to match readers and writers on the site who have common interests. You don’t have to participate, but it sounds like kind of a cool idea.
Letting you know that the link works well. I’m already on the site as a writer. Glad to know that you’re also involved.
Thank you, Connie! I’m there as both a reader and a writer with writer as primary account.
