December Property Update
Here’s what we worked on over the last month:
The San Antonio House: We spent a few days in San Antonio, and during that time, Mr. L made a Herculean effort to finish the under the house project. For now, he doesn’t anticipate having to make any more trips under the house. (He is very happy about this.)
The Ranch: The deer feeder and camera is active for the final census of the year. I put two bird feeders out this time and filled them with sunflower seeds. The food will have only lasted a few days, but I’m curious to see if I’ll be able to see anything on the camera or not. We’re concluding our first year under Wildlife Management. I’ve learned a little but not nearly enough. When I go out to retrieve the camera, I’ll bring some rat snacks to put in the motor home and the trailer. So far, no critters seem to have found their way into the car trailer we have parked out there, but the rats have demolished the interior of the motor home (Mr. L was planning to gut it and remodel the interior when we are to bring it back into town anyway, but still…). The rat snacks will slow the carnage.
The Store: We cleared space in the first bay and unloaded the ’46 Mercury Coupe for storage. Mr. L loaded engines and a few other items into the trailer to relocate to the shop. We still need to unload them from the trailer.
The Shop: I began inventorying my glass, and Mr. L did a little work on the showroom ceiling in preparation for painting. Mr. L also began working on his rotator for his Mercury frames. This will allow him to prepare the frames in the restoration process.
The Central Texas House: The scaffolding is up, and Mr. L is working on stripping the upstairs shingles. He has the first coat of primer on some, and the rest are in various stages of preparation:
Yes, I have a few leaves to get sucked up into bags. I’ve been waiting for any pecan pickers to get the pecans and for the leaves to dry. My plan is to get this done by the time you see this post.
