Cats: Lost My Brick?
I ordered self-heating cat mats, and they arrived this week. I wasn’t sure who would like them the most, but I think Delta has spoken. Instead of sleeping on my feet last night like she usually does, she spent all night on the mat.
Natasha is enjoying the mat I put where she usually sleeps near me while I work. Lady enjoys the other one I placed nearby. Ruby slept on a third mat last night, so the fleeces are popular, and the heat reflecting properties appear to be appreciated.
Lady, Tarzan, Daphne, and Natasha accompanied me to San Antonio this week (mail, errands, bill paying, and yard work). Except for Natasha, the other three are known to torment Rossie, so this gave Rossie relaxation time. Lady and Daphne also were spared sleeping in the cage at night. Lady slept with me. I don’t know where Daphne slept. She didn’t spend much time with the rest of us at night. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. We’re all back together and within the first hour, Tarzan had already chased Rossie out of her window. Yep. One big, happy, squabbling feline family.
We came home from dinner last night, and I checked the side porch through the door, catching Boomer just as he was coming up to dine. He stopped in his tracks, looked at me, then proceeded to the feeder to eat. We can’t get near him, but he doesn’t run when we look at him. I need to try to catch him. He still needs a clean bill of health and to be vaccinated and neutered. That’s the price they pay to eat at my feeder, but I haven’t activity tried to catch him yet. These next few weeks may be good. I’ll check the game camera to see what times are best for Boomer’s visits.
Never a dull moment, eh?
Hank is past retirement age, and the time is coming when the company won’t “offer” retirement, they’ll just dump him. He’s seriously worried about how he’ll fill the “leisure” time. I figure the pent-up honey-do list will keep him busy the first year or so. After that, he’s going to have to learn to fish. You and Mr. L have got the leisure time quandary all worked out, seems like. Give my best to poor Rossie.
Never a dull moment. Sounds like Hank needs to expand his hobby list. My mom paints, quilts, does Bible Studies, reads, and more. Dad does woodworking, genealogy, reading, and develops Sunday School lessons (he’s a retired minister). They never have a dull moment, and Mr. L and I sometimes wish for one. Well, we make one when we want one, but there’s always something that isn’t getting done.
