Wednesday Wanderings: Trying a Chair
I’ve done a lot of obsessive research over the last week and a half to try to find the best lift chair recliner for me to use post knee replacement time. My husband is still resisting this. He thinks it’s a lot of money to spend for something I’m only going to need for a few months at most. He also thinks I won’t want to sleep in it and will regret not having a regular bed to sleep in.
Technically, before I’m released from the hospital, I’ll be able to do stairs. That means if I really wanted to, I could go upstairs to sleep. I suspect I won’t really want to. But, if I really don’t like sleeping in the recliner, climbing the stairs is an option. So is setting up the metal cot. I’m not too worried about that. From what I hear, people have trouble sleeping the first couple of weeks no matter where they are.
His first argument is more difficult to counter, because if he doesn’t want something in this house, he finds a way to move it out. And he definitely doesn’t want a big, bulky recliner.
It may not matter. I found one of the models I think I want at a local medical supply place. I’m going to take a test drive later today. If I can’t get comfortable in it, there may be no point in purchasing one. We’ll see.
For those of you on the fence about How to Think Sideways, I highly recommend the blog post series at Lyn’s site. That at this link and click on the right side links at the top or bottom of the course to read through what she has to say about the course. Lyn gives a great run down on what you can expect from the course — the lessons, the forums, everything. When she convinces you the course is worthwhile, click on her affiliate link to sign up. You’ll be glad you did. Only one more day until registration closes for a year.
The chair was very comfortable. We’ll be getting it or a freshly ordered one when we return from the Grand Tour.
