  1. I love traveller’s tales like these. I’m not a fan of rides either, but did Disneyland and plucked up the courage to do the runaway train one, which I quite enjoyed since I could see where we were going and brace myself! I may have gone on the riverboat, too. Not a thrill merchant, me! I enjoyed Universal far more.

Hope your knee replacement goes well.

  2. The Paramount tour, which we took a couple of times when we lived down the street from it, is rather fun. Our daughter was a young teen when we first got to lalaland, and she used to say, “Oh, there’s so-and-so!” and we’d say, “Who?” because we didn’t watch MTV at all. The movie lots, if you can get on them, are interesting. They remind me of shipyards, which I just love. So busy! Doing such arcane things!

Disneyland is fun, but there’s a lot of stuff there that is hard on the knees–even stuff that doesn’t look like it would be. But if the haunted mansion is still there, that’s nice–it’s a guided tour of a, um, haunted mansion a la Disney. And the parades are entertaining. Did they still have Pirates of the Caribbean?

  3. Love finding new writing blogs during the #Challenge. I have to go back and read your Chicago & Grant Park posts since my theme has to do with the settings for my new novel. I grew up in Evanston and loved using my memories of the Chicago area as part of the story. Thanks for all the hard work it takes to participate. If you have a minute, come and see what I’m up to.

  4. This is an amazing theme. I wish I would have started at the beginning. A traveler’s true tales. How much fun. I hate that you didn’t really enjoy LA. I’ve always loved visiting LA. I can’t say that I would enjoy visiting the theme parks. I’ve done that in Florida with my kids and it was a nightmare. Fun for the kids, but hell for the adults. The lines and heat. Oh no, ever again. Well, maybe when I am a grandmother. Enjoyed your post.
