July Property Update
Later today, I’ll be having minor hand surgery — getting a carpal tunnel release on my left hand (I’m left-handed). I’m attempting to get my posts scheduled, but if anything is missing, it means I’m not typing yet.
My stamina is reappearing after my knee surgery, so I’m beginning to get more things done. And now that Mr. L stopped taking flaxseed, his energy levels are returning (it REALLY didn’t agree with him). Here’s what we’ve been doing:
San Antonio House: Yard. And there’s a lot more to do, too, but I am unlikely to be able to do much while we’re down there at the end of the month.
The Ranch: We’re doing the July deer (and other critter) census. So far, no deer at the deer feeder (but I just got deer corn loaded, so that’s not surprising). On camera shots from the 1st to the 12th, I see our hog and a pair of curious raccoons. The pond was up.
The Store: It needs mowing again, but it’s not too bad. All the trailers are otherwise employed, and I have the old electric mower, so mowing won’t be happening anytime fast, and may not get done before my hand surgery.
The Shop: Mr. L got the trailer with the compressor and the refrigerator unloaded with a very little help from me.
The Central Texas House: I’m finally getting caught up with the trimming. Mowing has been going well. I trimmed low hanging branches from the crape myrtle. The city is having a tree limb and brush drop off event this Saturday, and we plan to participate.
We thought we had a problem with the washing machine, but our neighbor with the appliance repair business came over and, after examining it, said if we’d run a large load followed by a small load, it would cause the problem we experienced — some water leaking onto the floor. I’d done just that — washed a comforter followed by a pillow with some towels. Whew.
Our new upstairs heat pump installation has been delayed again. August will be the soonest we can get it now, and maybe not until even later. Our old systems are still functioning, so this is a mere annoyance. At least we don’t have to pay for it until it’s installed.
