Tech Stuff: Evernote
I’ve been using Evernote as a data stashing tool for several years. I use the free version, because I didn’t need the premium features. I guess enough other people didn’t need the premium features, so not long ago, Evernote changed the parameters, making some previously free features part of their premium packages.
One of those features was the ability to email an article to your Evernote account. They “generously” allowed five free ones before cutting you off. I hit that limit last week. I’m surprised they haven’t started charging for the Evernote Clipper. I only used the email “feature” on mobile devices, because there is no Evernote Clipper capability.
I briefly looked for other alternatives, but haven’t found something suitable yet. Instead, I created an Evernote account on one of my domains, then, when I’m on the iMac or the MacBook, I can open the links and save them to Evernote using the Evernote Clipper.
That reminds me. I’ve been sorting physical paper this month. I guess it’s time to do an Evernote clean up, too.
