September 2015 Property Update
We finally got almost three-quarters of an inch of rain a week ago. That helped. Here’s what’s been going on in the property realm.
San Antonio House: We got some watering done, mowed the lawn, and trimmed a few limbs that were bothering the neighbor’s roof. We have a lot more work to do down there, but that’s all we had time for this month.
The Ranch: Nothing this month. Next month I’ll try again with the game camera.
The Store: Nothing this month. Maybe after last week’s rain the grass will grow enough to need mowing, but not likely.
The Shop: Nothing of note this month. We enjoyed the swap meet. While we didn’t make quite as much money as last year, we made enough to pay for our spaces for this year, and we could have paid for next year’s too. Some bulky items found new homes as did a few smaller items we definitely didn’t need sitting around the house. We’ve decided to load the black trailer up with our scrap metal in (most likely) November, and get that cleared out. This includes some of the bulkier items we’ve hauled to the swap meet for two years and nobody has even inquired about. None of those items is of any historical value, so they will make fine scrap. The ultra-heavy Jeep transmission will come off the trailer and not be scrapped. So glad we have a crane with a chain fall to make that task a little easier.
The Central Texas House: Yard watering and one high leveling of the yard took place. The upstairs AC/heating units have been replaced with one heat pump unit. We had a little trouble at first with the old drain being plugged, and the new system shutting itself down when the drain backed up, but that’s been cleared. When the AC guys’ schedule lets up a little, they will return and finish the drain job, but they won’t need us to be here to do that, because they completed all the inside work for that task.
Watch this space next month. We should have additional news to report.
