Cats: Rossie Update
Rossie has been more interested in interacting this week. I think she’s standing up for herself with Lady. Unfortunately, Lady and her still can’t get through the night peacefully, so Lady has been spending her nights in her private room. Daphne joins her sometimes. If Rossie weren’t so loud when they fight, we could deal with this, but Rossie’s a screamer.
Rossie has been sighted on the bed instead of under the rocking chair multiple times. She’s been approaching Mr. L in the night for petting. She spent a whole day and night in the garden window, mostly peacefully with the other cats. While she was there, she presented her tummy for tummy rubs a few times.
Alas, I’m going to disrupt all this next week when I take her and her sisters and Daphne back to Central Texas with me. All four are due for their annual exams and shots. Since it will only be for a couple of days, I’m thinking of keeping everyone contained in the kitchen and parlor to keep me from having to fish anyone out from under a bed to bring them back to San Antonio.
You are so patient and so genuinely concerned and interested in your cats, Jean. What lucky critters they are!
Cats must be a lot different from dogs, but then we only have three dogs, and two of them are too big to get under the beds. One of them is terrified of the car, and all three are very upset when they have to be separated, as when one has to go to the vet. Honestly, the ones left behind just sit by the back door and put up occasional whimpers then go mad with delight when they hear the car in the driveway.
I’m glad to hear that Rossie is progressing in her integration into the gang. Pride? What do you call a group of house cats?
