Property Update: February 2016
The February 2016 property update seemed to roll around quickly. I guess that’s the story of life after you reach some certain age. Life comes at you fast. Wait, that’s a commercial for some product I can’t recall at the moment. Shouldn’t the marketing team have to create something memorable for the brand that’s paying them? Apparently not. Back to property.
San Antonio House: We’re working there as you read this. Watering and removing dead trees/tree limbs (as we are able, Mr. L is not anywhere near full speed, much to his disappointment and frustration). This week is my best chance to get the property ready for me to not be able to be there for three months after my knee replacement.
The Ranch: I have deer corn and need to get out there to fill the feeder and set up the camera for another census. We have a number of tasks to perform out there as well, but that isn’t working well for us these days.
The Store: I did some weed whacking last week.
The Shop: Mr. L did some puttering and reorganizing of several things over the last month.
The Detail Shop: Nothing of interest here.
The Central Texas House: We had some beautiful weather, so I pruned the crape myrtle bases, pruned the short ones on the corner to make it easier to keep them from blocking the view of cars at the corner for the coming year, and trimmed the bases of all our outer tree growths. I trimmed the side yard island, and knocked out the worst of one grossly overgrown bush on the front island. I turned and wetted the compost — I’d severely neglected that for several months, so hopefully, that jump-started it, but I have to pay more attention.
I have two months to get the yards in order before I have my right knee replaced. Then, there won’t be much to report for several months, I suspect, as I recover.
Jean–
You are amazing!
Hubs hasn’t been feeling well enough to do much yard work lately (when he’s in town–right now, he’s out of town half the time) and I’ve been on him to think about selling the house and moving into a condo. Your property load would overwhelm us in short order–but you keep chugging along. I am in awe!
Best wishes for both of you to be up and at ’em sooner than the docs predict for you. 🙂
Thanks, Lyn. So sorry your hubs hasn’t been feeling up to much. He has a lot on his plate. Well, you all do, and you keep chugging along, too! I know we do what we have to do, right? At least we can find a way to enjoy things along the way.
