Property Update: June 2016
What a month. Here’s the latest on the Property Update, June 2016. I had a few things to get ready before my knee replacement next week, but everything is what it is.
San Antonio House: I made a quick trip down last Saturday to get one last mow in before surgery.
The Ranch: I loaded 80 pounds of deer corn into the feeder, activated twice a day one second runs for the spreader, and set the cameras up at 90 degrees offset from one another to see who comes to visit. I anticipate the usual raccoons, wild hogs, deer, squirrels, and birds. But who else will make an appearance? Will the bobcat join us on camera again? I hope so.
The Store: I mowed and trimmed. Whomever mows the right-of-way mowed, and I see the water leak (on the city side) has not been repaired yet. They have known about it for several months, but they must have bigger leaks to deal with so far.
The Detail Shop: Mowed and trimmed.
The Central TX House: Outside is the usual mowing and trimming. The spring rains appear to have moved on, which means it will be dry at least until September. I helped Mr. L put the scaffolding back in working order for the season. I did some internal tidying on the house in anticipation of being out of action for a few months. I’ll be up and around, but I’ll be moving slow and only doing what is absolutely necessary for several months.
You have so many properties! Have you ever considered renting one of them out as a writer’s retreat?
The short answer is no. The longer answer is we don’t want to deal with liability.
