Tech Stuff: I Got Nothin’
Can you believe there’s nothing on the tech buzz stage that interests me this month? People are all excited about the impending iPhone 7. I don’t use my earbud jack that much, but I’d prefer to keep it. Otherwise, I haven’t seen or heard anything that would interest me enough to trade in my iPhone 6Plus. Mr. L’s iPhone 5 either needs a new battery or to be replaced. I’m encouraging him to upgrade to the iPhone SE, which has the guts of an iPhone 6 but the form factor of the iPhone 5, which he prefers. He won’t use all that new stuff, but the phone should be reliable for another four years or more.
For the gaming community, there’s talk of an incredible video card, but it costs as much as a small car, so I believe most people won’t be pouncing on it the day it’s released to the public.
At some point, I’ll need to replace my 2011 Lincoln Navigator L. Unfortunately, I don’t see anything I like better at any price, and what I do see, I don’t want to pay what they’re expecting for the vehicle. I’ll be keeping my maintenance current, driving gently, and hanging onto this baby for as many years as I can milk out of it.
Which seems to sum things up for me. Have I reached the tipping point in my life where nothing new is improved over the old stuff I have? Probably. That includes the various Apple computers out there. Certainly, nothing in the Windows realm interests me — what a nightmare the supposedly stable Windows 10 has been for my husband. He bought a new desktop three months ago, but he hasn’t even powered it on yet. I hope it works when he does.
Help me out, folks. What’s new and exciting for you on the tech horizon? Anything?
