Young Living: Balance
Before I began using Young Living Essential Oils, I’d heard essential oils could cure diseases and other ills. I was uncomfortable with the idea of liberally applying unknown substances to my body, so I delayed getting involved with any essential oils until I could learn more. When I finally did become a Young Living Essential Oil distributor almost a year ago, I didn’t know much more than Young Living had a strong reputation for quality oils and their Seed to Seal process guarantee.
I’ve been learning over the past year, and I still have a lot to learn, but I’m gaining a better understanding of one of the misperceptions that has been out there, which Young Living as a company has been fighting to correct through training their distributors. The biggest reason we as distributors are reminded that we don’t diagnose or treat specific illnesses or symptoms is because essential oils are not medication, and, unless we have specific training outside of being a Young Living Distributor, we’re not qualified to diagnose or treat any illness.
Essential oils are a natural product which, if your body needs the chemical compounds found in that oil or oil blend, your body will bond with those compounds. If that bonding process corrects an imbalance in your body, you will feel better. If you don’t notice a difference, there’s a good chance your body didn’t need that particular compound. This is why reference guides offer several options to people. Mostly, the desk reference gives you an idea of where to begin.
If you’ve been using essential oils for anything, what have you learned? How do you best like to employ them — aromatically, topically, internally, some other means?
