Cats: No Tail is Safe
Daisy has reached that playful age where no tail is safe around her. She attacks Zelda’s and Nick’s tails with equal ferocity.
Zelda has been observed playing with Daisy, and I’ve witnessed Nick and Daisy racing around on the steps chasing one another.
I think this image captures a compelling family portrait.
Walter has not been sighted for a week — either in person or on the game camera. I suspect he’s taken refuge at a house across the street, but I’d rather he were spending his time here. I believe Zelda has chased him off, and as long as she’s being ultra-protective of Daisy, he may stay away.
This morning I was able to pick Nick up and put him on my knee. He stayed for a very little while then jumped down. I also picked Daisy up and held her on my knee for a little while. When I put her back down, she scooted away. I’m hoping she won’t do that after a few more tries. This bodes well for me being able to put them in carriers the first week of the new year. Nick will be due for his FIV booster — a very important shot for an outside kitty, and Daisy will be able to get a check up and her first kitten shots. Zelda is still resisting being petted. Fortunately, she just walks away and isn’t combative about it. I’ll keep working with her. She has many more years of distrust of people to overcome. She has made amazing progress in the last few months. She needs her FIV booster, too, and I’m going to attempt to get her in the first week of January as well, but we’ll have to see.
