We Have Returned…
Kind of like MacArthur. Or not. Four-week vacations are not for the faint of heart. Or anyone with a heart, but we’re back. Yes, I only obliquely mentioned we were leaving. I did that on purpose. Now that we’re back, I’ll build four more posts to cover what we did on our spring vacation. I’m not sure if I’ll get these posts done quickly or not. After being gone for four weeks, there are “things which must be done.” Because we can afford a four-week vacation, but we can’t afford staff to make it easy to return. Laundry. Lawns. Cats. Those kinds of things. We’re catching up. Then there are all the things we should have been doing instead of goofing around for four weeks, but hey, you know how that is. In your mind, you would have been super productive, but in reality? Not really so much.
Here’s an overview:
Week 1: Texas Eagle, Chicago, Empire Builder
Week 2: Seattle, Ruby Princess and Alaska
Week 3: Greyhound, Sacramento, California Zephyr, and Reno
Week 4: California Zephyr, Wisconsin, and Texas Eagle
Eighteen states and two countries for me, and seventeen states and one country for Mr. L. Traveling Amtrak is always an adventure, and this trip was no different.
I’m going to like following your ‘reports’! Been a long time since I rode Amtrak and want to do it again. Can you include small maps? I don’t remember where all the lines go.
Good suggestion, Rob.
