Cats: Lady Update #4, Rossie, and Daisy
Lady is doing well. She still limps, but over most of last week, the cage has been open and it’s been up to her if she wants to be in it or not. Several times, I’ve seen her resting on the cushion. I put a box next to my bed to make it easier for her to get up, and she and Tarzan have been using it. Since Lady has access to her humans, she’s been a much happier kitty. She spends most of the night sleeping next to me.
Rossie has been out and a about but mostly she stays in the parlor, even with the door open. The only altercation was one evening when Lady was on the bed beside me. We believe Daphne was being obnoxious, and Rossie was telling her to cut it out. Rossie’s confidence is still high, so we’re going to continue leaving the parlor door open and Rossie out to do as she pleases.
Daisy was another concern. Since the parlor door has been open, Daisy has remained largely downstairs. When she’s in the petting chair, she lets us pet her. Daisy also like chicken. She came and took a piece of chicken out of my hand last week. In a side note, Mr. L has begun calling her Cupcake instead of Daisy. She seems to like that better.
For now, the cage will remain assembled with the door open. Our ultimate goal is to be able to take the cage down and have the cats live in relative harmony. Sneaky still sequesters herself in the dining room, but that’s another matter. For now, we have nine relatively harmonious kitties, and we are thankful for that.
