Cats: Rossie is Blossoming
Rossie’s cage has been down for a little over a week, and I’m pleased to report she’s still doing very well. She’s limiting her movements to downstairs (as far as I can tell), but I’m happy about that. She has a plethora of defensible positions down here to fend off Daphne and Lady or anyone else who decides it’s fun to give her a hard time. Daphne is the greatest offender lately. Lady mostly ignores her.
Rossie enjoys spending the morning in the window watching the outdoor activities. Her next favorite place is under the rocking chair in the corner or on it. She’s approachable on the rocking chair or in the window. Sometimes she curls up in one of the huts on the cat tower. She enjoys cat treats and will even venture across the room to get them.
When Daphne gives chase, Rossie runs and hides, but she’s out in the open more, and I haven’t seen nearly as many instances of “deer in the headlights” as I used to. For those of you with cuddly housecats, Rossie isn’t competing there yet. For a scared feral kitty with serious emotional issues, she’s come a long, long way. Dr. Valeri was thrilled to hear these developments when Daisy was in for her annual exam.
