Young Living: Where I Started
When I started, I knew absolutely zero about essential oils. I had a Premium Starter Kit. I had a NingXia Red Essential Rewards Kit, and I had a desk reference. I had my bonuses for that month, because my order earned them, and I had a couple other products I’d decided to try, including the soon to go out of stock for almost two years original Valor blend.
After I placed the order, my sister offered to let me try NingXia Red, and she got me a packet from her car. Fortunately, I liked it.
That was almost the best order I could have done. A better order would have been the Premium Starter Kit (PSK), the NingXia Red Essential Rewards Kit, and the Thieves Essential Rewards Kit. That would have given me a complete home and personal package. But you know what? It’s all good. I got the Thieves Essential Rewards Kit a few months later and never missed a beat.
I’m going to let you in on a secret. I’ve been involved in Young Living for almost three years, and while I have plenty of oils, I’m only just now beginning to use them. Why? Several reasons but the primary one was I just didn’t “get” them. What did I get? Supplements.
And checking back over my orders do you know what my first supplement order was for? Surprisingly (to me), it was the Cleansing Trio Kit. This kit is comprised of ICP, Essentialzyme, and ComforTone. Each product is designed to clean the digestive tract, assist in food digestion, and move waste and impurities from the digestive tract. It’s a basic kit that does a body a lot of good.
Supplements made sense to me. I was already using them, and I was comfortable with them. First, I transitioned from my regular brand to Young Living. And guess what? I bought my next new-to-me supplement with my Essential Rewards points I’d earned on my monthly order. Master Formula. To me, that’s a foundational multivitamin. I wash Master Formula and other supplements down in the morning with a packet of NingXia Red.
Remember, NingXia Red cleanses, nourishes, and supports your immune system. One 2 oz packet at a time.
Then I began studying my desk reference and other books, trying to learn how to raise my wellness line.
I should have replaced Fish Oil, but I’m guessing I’d just bought a big bottle of it and didn’t want to waste it. Instead, my next supplement purchase was Multigreens. I’d heard people rave about this product. And I have to admit, I perceived an increase in energy and thought I felt a little more pep in my step when I started taking it. Maybe I’m more of a plant than I thought I was.
I think of this product as “getting all my vegetables.” Why is that? It’s a nutritious chlorophyll formula comprised of spirulina, alfalfa sprouts, barley grass, bee pollen, eleuthero, Pacific kelp, and therapeutic grade essential oils.
Next, I switched to OmegaGize, which, unlike my big bottle of Fish Oil, also has CoQ10, so I got an improved product. In addition to CoQ10, I got Vitamin D3 and omega-3 fatty acids. These ingredients work synergistically to support normal brain, heart, eye, and joint health.*
At the same time, I added Essentialzymes-4 to my order. Essentialzymes-4 is a multi-spectrum enzyme complex specially formulated to aid digestion of dietary fats, proteins, fiber, and carbohydrates commonly found in the modern processed diet. The dual time-release technology releases the animal and plant-based enzymes at separate times within the digestive tract, allowing for optimal nutrient absorption.*
I confess I still don’t remember to take the Essentialzymes-4 as often as would be optimal. I’m getting better, though.
I bought a bottle of Sulfurzyme in June of 2016. I put it in a box. In December of 2017. Please don’t do this with yours when you get it! I got the capsules, but it comes as a powder as well. Order the version that works best for how you like to take your supplements.
Sulfurzyme combines wolfberry with MSM, a naturally occurring organic form of sulfur needed by our bodies every day to maintain the structure of proteins, protect cells and cell membranes, replenish the connections between cells, and preserve the molecular framework of connective tissue.* MSM also supports the immune system, the liver, circulation, and proper intestinal function while it works to scavenge free radicals. Wolfberries contain minerals and coenzymes that support the assimilation and metabolism of sulfur.
I take Super B with this. Super B contains all eight essential energy-boosting B vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B5, B7, B9, and B12). Super B is combined with Nutmeg essential oil and bioavailable chelated minerals such as magnesium, manganese, selenium, and zinc. Since I take Master Formula in the morning, I take my Super B at night so it can work while I’m sleeping. Our bodies cannot store B vitamins, so they need to be replenished daily. If you get more than your body can use, it’s excreted in your urine. If your urine is a bright orange, you can be confident you’re getting enough of the Bs.
Remember, I said if you’re coming to Young Living to improve your overall health and wellness, you’ll want to do three things. 1) Cleanse, 2) Nourish, and 3) Support your immune system.
NingXia Red supports all three, so that’s your foundation. The Cleansing Trio will help your body eliminate waste and waste by-products. Essentialzymes and Essentialzymes-4 will help you get the most out what nutrients are in your foods.
Master Formula, Multigreens, OmegaGize, Sulfurzyme and Super B form a really solid foundation for most people.
I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention a Probiotic. You have two choices, Life 9 and MightyPro. MightyPro is the new probiotic released for kids, but adults like it, too. MightyPr doesn’t require refrigeration, and once Life 9 is opened, it needs to be kept refrigerated. Choose whichever one you prefer, but these products ensure all the right thing are growing in your gut. You won’t be surprised that our probiotics also support the three main things you joined Young Living to do.
That’s what got me going. What’s the right approach for you?
What’s right for you is going to vary a little from person to person, but I’m going to go with what I consider a solid “best” beginning to help you improve your overall health and wellness.
As you get comfortable and learn more — you owe it to yourself to study and learn and adjust for what you decide is best for you — I’m here to get you started on a solid footing.
You really can’t go wrong with a Premium Starter Kit with your choice of diffuser. I’ve pictured the versatile Desert Mist below. The PSKs come with 11 oils, which form a comprehensive base which can be used to support physical, emotional, and mental well-being.
Next, I have to tell you, if you’re joining Young Living for personal wellness, you don’t buy the kit and do nothing else. I’d be doing you a disservice if I told you that. You need to buy products on a regular basis, and at first, you need to switch out the products with a lot of chemicals that just aren’t good for you, your kids, or your pets. We have a program called Essential Rewards, and if you’re going for the “best” beginning, you just need to be on it. I’ll tell you more about it later, but when you sign yourself up, start with the Thieves ER Kit. This kit allows you to trade out all the cleaning products and most of your personal care products in your home in one order.
Finally, you’ll remember I talked about NingXia Red. I got the NingXia Red ER Kit with my first order, and you can do that, but what I recommend to people is a 30 ct box of 2 oz NingXia Red packets. If you drink one packet a day, this will last you a month. (If there are two of you, order two boxes or split the packet into two shot glasses to drink.)
Remember, this is my recommendation for someone serious about their wellness. If you’re not serious or if you have financial issues that make this not feasible, there are other options, but let me explain one more thing about why this is a good start for you.
Young Living rewards members who reach certain PV levels with their purchases each month (each product has a PV value) and this configuration will ensure you get ALL the bonuses in your first month. You’ll get the 100 PV ER bonus. You’ll get the 190 ER and regular 190 PV bonus. You’ll get the 250 PV bonus, and you’ll get the 300 PV bonus. Those bonuses are worth almost half again what you’ve spent purchasing your kit and first month’s order. (There’s still more goodness that comes from this configuration in the form of ER points, but that’s for another post.)
That’s a lot of words. Does it make sense? If you have questions, please ask in comments below. This is YOUR wellness we’re talking about. You want to understand it.
