Cats: Zelda Cracks Me Up
We got home after our annual Pennsylvania trip last Sunday. We hadn’t been in the driveway more than a few minutes before we saw Zelda dashing into the yard to greet us. Keep in mind that Zelda will not let us touch her. But she comes running when we get home.
Since we’ve been back, she’s nearly been glued to the back screen door or under the back steps. Again, we cannot touch her or handle her in any way, yet she wants to be near us. She meows when we are outside and follows us around. When I open the door to bring the outside cats their cans in the morning, Zelda is right at the screen.
If and when this cat ever figures out that allowing herself to be handled isn’t a bad thing, we could have a problem, because she’ll become a true “glue cat” — one always in your lap.
Zelda brings a smile to my face every time I see her.
