A Disease Called Perfection

Philosophical Meanderings, Too Posted on September 27, 2010 by JeanSeptember 27, 2010

Take a few minutes and go read this blog post.  Take longer and read the nearly thousand replies to it.  If you come back, great.  If not, reading the post is more important.  Go do it.  This post will be here whenever you decide to come back.  No rush. Do … Continue reading →

750words and Health Month

Philosophical Meanderings, Too Posted on September 22, 2010 by JeanJanuary 22, 2025

A little over 100 days ago, someone posted about 750words.com on FM. My writing has been sporadic at best lately.  I checked out the site.  The site author compared it to morning pages, but he does oh so much more.  He keeps stats and he offers badges for achieving various … Continue reading →

Progressive

Philosophical Meanderings, Too Posted on September 6, 2010 by JeanJanuary 8, 2021

I’m finally getting around to reading my electronic advance reader copy of In the Land of Invisible Women by Qanta Ahmed.  Yes, it was published two years ago, but I didn’t have a viable way to read the PDF download (I don’t consider a computer screen a viable way to … Continue reading →

More Cats

Philosophical Meanderings, Too Posted on August 31, 2010 by JeanFebruary 11, 2016

No, not more cats for the house, but we seem to have an “infestation” under the house.  We’re on a major pathway between two possible “problem” houses for cats.  One is our next door neighbor to the back who has a sort of a pet cat he lets live in … Continue reading →

The Roxy Experiment

Philosophical Meanderings, Too Posted on August 26, 2010 by JeanAugust 26, 2010

I can deal with Roxy stalking Ajax.  Ajax has problems with that, but I can probably live with it.  What I can’t live with is a cat who does not always without fail use the litter box for litter box things (barring some reasonable, rare exceptions). She’s had a problem … Continue reading →

Threads and Ties Revisited

Philosophical Meanderings, Too Posted on August 20, 2010 by JeanAugust 20, 2010

According to the date on the file, it’s been three years (!) since I last made changes to Thread and Ties.  I just finished reading it from start to finish for the first time in at least that long — probably longer.  Did someone come in and work on this … Continue reading →

PRK Update

Philosophical Meanderings, Too Posted on August 17, 2010 by JeanAugust 17, 2010

In February, 2005, I had PRK surgery performed on my eyes to correct my vision.  The surgery was successful even though I needed to wear the contact bandage an extra three days.  My eyes corrected to 20/15.  I did need reading glasses, but I needed those before the surgery. Less … Continue reading →

Ultrasound Confirmation

Philosophical Meanderings, Too Posted on August 12, 2010 by JeanAugust 12, 2010

We suspected this might be the case when we adopted Roxy, but today I have confirmation. Roxy is pregnant and expected to be due in six weeks. This happens to new parents all the time, but I don’t expect most parents adopting teenage girls think it will happen to them. … Continue reading →

Roxy Revisited

Philosophical Meanderings, Too Posted on August 8, 2010 by JeanMarch 28, 2023

Roxy has been in the house for eight days.  She’s off her best behavior now, and we’re seeing what we think is the real Roxy, but it may be too early to tell.  I’m comparing her integration into the household to the Five Stages of Teambuilding.  Remember those?  Forming, Storming, … Continue reading →

iPad Update: Four Months Later

Philosophical Meanderings, Too Posted on August 7, 2010 by JeanAugust 7, 2010

The iPad is an integral part of my life.  I’m finding more and more uses for it.  I try to carry it everywhere with me, because it has my list app, and I update various lists when I (or hubby) come up with something.  Even hubby seems to be an … Continue reading →
