Cats: Feral News
Delta went into heat last Sunday, so we isolated Floyd, and Monday morning he trekked to the vet for scheduling for his neutering. A couple weeks early, but Dr. Val agreed to do the surgery the next day. Floyd is now current on his shots and won’t be making any kitties. I left him there until this morning on the off chance someone would be looking to adopt.
I decided there was no point in locking him up there over the weekend when nobody would be around to adopt, so I made up a flier for all four kitties and traded the flier for Floyd (well, the flier and the correct amount of money to cover his neutering and shots). All four will return the week of the 18th for the girls to get spayed and to be on display for adoption for another week. (Plans could change before then which would result in the kittens all going in earlier, but that’s a different matter and has nothing to do with the kitties.)
If they aren’t adopted during that time, I’ll bring them home and integrate them into the household (no more crate!). They will remain available for adoption, but they’ll grow up indoors and loved until then. I suspect hubby figured that would happen all along, and he seems resigned to it. The difference is he fully expected me to want to keep them all. I do plan to allow them to be adopted.
Sneaky was eating at the feeder this morning. It would make my day to discover she’s a he, but I haven’t had any way to tell yet. I guess I’ll bring the trap out in March and try again to catch her.
