Zelda has been here almost daily. She’s back into her routine of greeting me at the back door after Jase is back inside from his morning walk and escorting me around the house so I can fill her food bowl. Here she is following me around and yelling at me.
We got the antique store closed down and emptied. That was sad for all of us.
Painting on the house seems to be nearing completion. I’ll be thankful when they can complete the roof. When those two major projects are complete, there are still some significant things to do, but there may be a pause while I reload funds. I still have two bathrooms that need to be completed (one is especially required — the other could wait), but I may have to hold off on the porch railings and a few other jobs while I regroup. This project has cost way more than planned (I hear this is normal, but I still don’t like it).
The detail work on the front door looks good:
The damaged porch ceiling has been replaced and painted:
The stained glass is being repaired as needed and recaulked:
These two windows are waiting for better weather to be rebuilt.
The shed has been rehabbed and looks nice with its new roof, walls, baseboards, foundation, and paint. The door frame will be repaired, and the door will be painted.
A lot has been happening over the last 21 months. I’m sad that Alan couldn’t be here to enjoy it.
