Setting the Table for Solid Nutrition

Philosophical Meanderings, Too Posted on January 4, 2018 by JeanJanuary 6, 2018

Did you know your body was designed to heal itself? Yes, if you give it the proper ingredients (nutrition, pure water, sleep, and exercise), your body will rebuild itself and rid itself of impurities. Due to various reasons, our food sources have become depleted from the vitamins and minerals needed to grow food rich in all the ingredients our bodies need to repair themselves. Our diets have tended to involve more and more processed foods which, even though the natural vitamins and minerals that have been processed out are replaced with chemical equivalents, our bodies can’t use them as efficiently. There have been some suggestions that infusing nutrition supplements with pure essential oils enhances absorption of the nutrition in that supplement. If I understand correctly, in essence, the oil helps transport the nutritional components to where the body needs them.  If you wanted to start a solid nutrition program, what would be the best way to do that?

If you imagine yourself as a table with four solid legs, and your nutrition supplements provide that solid base, this is what things would look like:

One leg would be formed of NingXia Red, a tasty juice comprising an extensive blend of antioxidants to fight free radicals in your body. Premium NingXia Red ingredients include juices and extracts from superfruits such as aronia, plum, blueberry, and pomegranate, plus we use a whole-fruit puree of exotic wolfberries. This delicious supplement packs a big punch, offering benefits that include support for normal eye health, cellular function, and energy levels.*

NingXia Red

A second leg would be formed with OmegaGize, a powerful omega-3 supplement also containing vitamin D-3 and CoQ10 (ubiquinone). These supplements combine with our proprietary enhancement essential oil blend to create an omega-3, DHA-rich fish oil supplement that may support general wellness. Used daily these ingredients work synergistically to support normal brain, heart, eye, and joint health.*

OmegaGize

A third leg would be formed with Life 9, a powerful probiotic that contains 17 billion live cultures from nine beneficial bacteria strains promotinggut health and a healthy immune system.

Life 9

And the fourth leg would be formed with Essentialzymes-4. Essentialzymes-4 is a multienzyme complex formulated to aid the proper digestion of dietary fats, proteins, fiber, and carbohydrates, promoting optimal nutrient absorption.

Essentialzymes-4Some people will say, but I can’t afford all those. First, check your budget, then pick what you can afford and work from there. Go with your “gut” feel about which ones you need most. I’ve been using NingXiaRed and OmegaGize for a couple years now. I’m just adding in Essentialzymes-4. Next, Life 9 will be added.  The beauty of these four, beyond the nutritional foundation they form, is ordering a one month supply of these each month on Essential Rewards will ensure you earn every product bonus Young Living offers nearly every month (a couple months since I’ve been a member, Young Living has set the maximum bonus criteria higher than what these four cost, but that’s been rare).

Essential Rewards is designed specifically for this type of order, too, because your cart stays loaded after each order is placed every month, and you only add or subtract as needed. If you chose to get the same thing every month, you don’t have to worry about it. Use the Contact Me link above to learn more.

Merry Christmas 2017

Philosophical Meanderings, Too Posted on December 25, 2017 by JeanDecember 25, 2017
sea lions, eagle, buoy, and rainbow

I wish each of you a Merry Christmas. I pray these wishes find you healthy, happy, and prosperous. If not, I pray you find all three in the coming year.

Now that my two knee replacmements and the cracked patella appear to be fully healed, I’ve recently begun taking a beginner yoga class. I’m not sure if it’s using the Raindrop oils on my feet or the yoga practice, but my right hip is moving much more freely. I’d started using the Raindrop oils before I started the yoga, and I’d noticed an inexplicable improvement in my hip, but I believe it’s a combination of the two practices which is reaping the best benefit for me. I’ve taken four classes. I have a long way to go before I look like yoga is doing me any good, but I will tell you I can feel its positive effects already.

I prepared the next issue of the RandR Fiction Club newsletter this morning. It’s scheduled to go out on January 2. You still have time to get on the list two receive this quarterly missive. Click on the Writing, Books tab above, then look to the right sidebar to add your email and name to get on the list — make sure you check your inbox and click the verification link. That protects you from some clown signing you up without your permission.

For the first time in many years, we appear to have nine cats living in relative harmony. While Lady was in the cage to restrict her movement for healing purposes, the other eight cats had the run of the open areas of the house, and they all got along. Rossie has remained visible if not always approachable. Now that Lady’s foot has healed and she is released to interact as she wishes, everyone is still getting along. It’s been less than a week, so things could change, but Mr. L and I are hopeful. If this continues, we plan to disassemble the cage, freeing up a good bit of space in the parlor.

Sneaky still sequesters herself in the dining room. That’s because Ajax is a jerk and will not leave her in peace. Sneaky is a separate issue, and she’s content in the dining room as long as we spend time with her each day.

As I prepare for 2018, I’m doing personal and professional planning. I do this incrementally throughout the year, but I look at the big picture during the last half of December and the first half of January to make sure my life is on a desired trajectory. I keep a lot of plates spinning — spiritual growth, harmony with Mr. L, my health journey, relationships with family and friends, cats, property care, my essential oils business, and my writing (which has been on the back burner from a fiction perspective for a couple of years now, but I’m looking for ways to add it back in).

Oils: Starter Kits Discounted in February!

Philosophical Meanderings, Too Posted on February 11, 2016 by JeanMarch 28, 2023

What better way to kick off a monthly post about essential oils than to be able to say Starter Kits are discounted 10% this month! I should clarify Premium Starter Kits are discounted 10% this month. There is a basic kit, but, frankly, the only people I can see it benefiting are people who already have a good selection of oils and a diffuser they like. For everyone else? You’re not getting started unless you have a Premium Starter Kit. That’s my thoughts. You may believe differently, and that’s okay. At full price the kit is a bargain, because the individual components cost at least $268.  Full price with the Dewdrop diffuser is $160. For the month of February, your Premium Starter Kit with Dewdrop diffuser is only $144. Here’s what that kit would look like:

starter

You have your choice of diffusers, so if you choose a different diffuser, it will cost you more but you’ll still get that kit at 10% off regular price (except for the Rainstone diffuser). Sale prices by diffuser, left to right, Dewdrop $144, Bamboo $153, Rainstone $205–not included in sale, and Aria $234.

The oils included in the Premium Starter Kit are common, popular oils. In fact, there’s an Everyday Oils collection for $130 that is also a bargain, because the oils included in that kit, if purchased separately, are worth $359.25. If all you do is use those oils regularly, you can subscribe to Essential Rewards and put that collection into your cart for it to be auto-shipped to you every month, and you never have to think about it. There are other benefits for doing this (you can change what products will be shipped at any time, so you’re not stuck with the products you initially selected), but that’s a big one.

You can choose to be a retail customer if you like, but there are so many benefits to being your own Independent Distributor, I’m  not sure why you would want to pay retail. Should you decide to share what you like with someone else, and they choose to become a distributor, you receive certain benefits and bonuses. If you purchase at least 100 PV (point value) of products during a month (being on Essential Rewards ensures you do this), you’re eligible to receive a commission on any purchases made by people you sponsor or who purchase at retail.

Additionally, Young Living offers very nice bonuses for achieving certain PV totals during the month, and those bonuses are worth nearly as much as the cost of the products purchased to achieve those point levels.

Not sure? Get on my educational mailing list to keep learning more. Go to the menu bar up top and click on my Young Living Essential Oils page and sign up in the upper right hand corner (or scroll to the bottom on mobile). But this Premium Starter Kit sale is only to share the love during the month of February, so don’t miss out! Ready to get your Premium Starter Kit? Click here to go to the Young Living Sign up page.

If you’ve read this far, thank you. This is the first in a monthly series about essential oils. I’d certainly love for you to join me, but mostly, I’m exploring and sharing what I learn. Please don’t feel pressure to participate if you don’t want to.

Essential Oils: Curious?

Philosophical Meanderings, Too Posted on January 12, 2016 by JeanMarch 28, 2023

Essential oils? Aren’t those some kind of New Age thing? Or maybe something from Biblical times? All that and more? How do you know what to do with them? Who to trust? What do you look for when choosing them? How do you know what to do with them? I can’t speak for you, but I can tell you about my process.

I’d been hearing about essential oils on the periphery of my attention for several years. I’d heard they could help alleviate or maybe even prevent a wide variety of conditions. Frankly, it sounded too good to be true. But. I also knew herbal medicine had been around since the dawn of time — at least human time. I knew Essential Oils played a huge role in Biblical times. So, I figured there must be something to this.

Another “but” though. I didn’t want to sift through all the information. Every Tom, Dick, and Harry has an essential oil. I saw my mom post about how some oils had helped her obtain relief from a particularly troubling problem she deals with. Shortly afterward, I visited my parents and surrounding family. We talked oils. My niece came over with her amazing bucket of oils. I made a quick check with a friend who was more knowledgeable about homeopathic things than I was. My friend confirmed Young Living is well-respected for the purity of their products. Mom sponsored me into the business. My Mom is a tremendous source of knowledge, because she scours the desk reference and knows how an oil or a combination of oils is most likely to help a given concern based upon what she finds there. My niece is also a tremendous source of knowledge and information, and I’ve learned so much from both of them. I have much more to learn.

I’m taking it slowly. I have a small inventory of oils known to work in areas I’m interested in. I’ve since learned one of the keys is to make sure you purchase only “therapeutic” grade essential oils (which Young Living oils are). Those stand the best chance of being the healthiest to use. My focus is on wellness and ways I can use Young Living products to enhance my overall wellness.

I want the company to have control from the beginning to the end of the process, and I want them to exercise ethical actions to ensure the end product is safe from harmful materials. Young Living does this, and calls the process Seed to Seal. I like the involvement I see in Young Living’s use of rewards to educate their senior leaders on how the company works. They offer seminars to new Silvers and above where these distributors and leaders visit the Young Living farms and see firsthand how the products they use and sell are made. In the case of foreign farms, they also learn about the impact the farm has on the local community.

My mom saw immediate benefits from the oils she uses. She has told me she’s walking better, and she believes it’s because she’s sleeping better. We can improve our wellness by leaps and bounds simply by sleeping better. Many people diffuse Lavender and believe they achieve more beneficial sleep. Lavender comes in the Premium Starter Kit, which comes with everything you need to see how essential oils can enhance your overall wellness. The sample bottles and product samples make it easy to share with friends or others. People make common household products using the oils and are able to free their home from many harmful chemicals and fragrances.

Many people choose to become distributors simply to be able to purchase the products at a discount. And if that’s all you’d want to do, everyone is perfectly okay with that. But distributors also have the opportunity to build the business, which allows them to earn additional income simply by sharing something that works for them.

Is this something that might interest you? Feel free to browse the Young Living site. If you’re interested in becoming either a customer (at full retail price) or a distributor (either for the product discount or if you’re interested in actively building a business), please use my link. I’ll help you learn more, get you in touch with people who know more than me if I don’t know what you need, either for personal use or professional business building.

Not sure? Add yourself to my email list, and I’ll send periodic oil notes and related information. There’s no rush to decide if something like this is right for you.

Fresh Start

Philosophical Meanderings, Too Posted on January 1, 2016 by JeanMarch 28, 2023

I’m looking for a fresh start for my web presence. For a long time, I reserved several domain names, tried to blog in different areas for different interests, but I’ve been feeling drawn to consolidating my interests in one area. It’s not quite as bad as you may think. I … Continue reading →
