For those of you not following on Facebook, Roxy’s kittens have arrived. Yesterday afternoon, she spent a little over four hours welcoming four little kitties into the world. She did a wonderful job and is being a wonderful mama kitty. One and Two came about fifteen minutes apart, then we waited two and a half hours, then Three and Four came, also fifteen minutes apart.
Here she is this morning with all four of them, less than a day old:
I snapped this shot shortly after the first one when Roxy stepped out for some breakfast. They are from top to bottom by head in birth order: #3, #4, #1, and #2
They are doing well. As of tonight, they look even bigger. Numbers 1, 2, and 3 are all black with white socks. We think #3 is the only girl; she has little or no white on her face. The other three appear to be boys. Numbers 1 and 2 have white markings on their face. Number 2 appears to have more of a mustache, and Number 1 has a slightly longer stripe up the middle of his forehead. Number 4 has marking more like Roxy but with far less white.
So far, they all appear to be active, healthy, hungry, and sleepy. Roxy has been more than happy to leave them sleeping for what seems like a long time to me, but she’s very attentive to them, too, so I’m not too concerned.
